Who We Are
Rooted in Faith, Growing in Knowledge, Serving with Love
Mission Statement
St. Catherine of Siena Parish School is an inclusive community, rooted in the Catholic faith and dedicated to leading with compassion, igniting curiosity for learning, and serving faithfully.

History
Located in the Maple Leaf neighborhood of Northeast Seattle, St. Catherine School opened in 1941, just months before the United States entered World War II. Despite the trauma of the times, St. Catherine School found a firm foothold among Catholic families in Seattle’s north end. Sisters of Providence staffed the school for thirty-five years.

Accreditation
In 2019, St. Catherine School was awarded a full six-year accreditation term by the Western Catholic Education Association.

MAP SCORES (Standardized Testing)
Students at St. Catherine in 2nd-8th grades take the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) test 2-3 times per year, depending on the subject. Teachers use data from MAP testing to plan instruction, offer differentiation, and assist students in goal setting. Reflective of our well rounded curriculum, dedicated teaching and support staff, and hard-working students, our students (blue bars) consistently score well above the national average (yellow bars) in all subject areas on the MAP test. The first graph shows that in their initial year of taking the MAP test, our second graders show incredible growth from Fall (blue bars) to Spring (red bars) of their second grade year.
