Distance Learning Plan
Our building may be closed, but learning is happening!
Until we can be back in the classroom, our goal is to continue to provide an excellent education for all of our students remotely. With a combination of recorded and live sessions, our students will receive the high level of instruction and personalized attention they have come to expect at St. Catherine. Additionally, we know our students need time away from screens to work and play. All of our teachers, including our specialists (PE, Spanish, art, and music) are providing creative lessons and fun outlets for our students to move and learn away from technology.
Using Google Classroom, our teachers have organized all lessons and classwork in an easily accessible format. Additionally, teachers post instructional resources and extension opportunities on their Google Classroom pages as well. If you or your child has a question or needs help accessing materials, please reach out to your student’s teacher. We are all here to help you!
In addition to keeping academics rigorous, we also know the importance of keeping our students connected to each other and to their teachers while we are apart. We have created opportunities for them to engage in various ways via Zoom, including:
Teacher office hours, available to students to drop into multiple times per week.
Lunch tables hosted by homeroom teachers so students can “eat” together.
Support from our school counselor via friendship groups, class meetings, lunches, etc.
‘Extra curricular’ activities, including weekly school news episodes, virtual all-school events, and mental health and movement activities
We are here to help you navigate this uncertain time. You can be assured we will continue to strive to create opportunities for your child(ren) to thrive until we are together once again.
