April 30, 2008
Dear
Families,
April
is gone; can you believe it?
It’s a great time of year.
I love seeing how the children have grown over the last 7
months and always feel some sadness at letting go.
There’s always more I’d like to do with them.
We
are back to our regular science schedule and are need some
parent helpers on Thursday, May 8th and Tuesday, May
13th during our Science period, 2:00-3:00.
We could use 2 parents per day—we are analyzing owl
pellets and assembling a mouse skeleton.
If you can help please let me know by the end of the
week. Mrs. Pierson
and I thank you! Help
on Monday mornings would also be appreciated.
I’ll put a sign-up sheet outside our door.
We
are still in need of one more driver for May 6th.
I need to turn in all of our names to NOAA, so please let
me know ASAP if you can drive.
Please remember to turn in the permission slip by
tomorrow!
Dr.
Shellenbarger has been helping our class with math for a few
months now. He’s
been improving the program he developed and it is ready for
students to have at home. In
the interest of saving time and resources, I am going to try to
e-mail it to you to save on your computer.
The children know how to use the program.
It’s an Excel file and you will find it amazing. This
is another tool to help your child in many areas of math.
If you have difficulty with it, let me know and I’ll
try to get it onto a CD for you.
This
is the last Scholastic order of the year.
There are three separate orders, fill out any you want. You
may write one check, payable to Scholastic.
Be sure your child’s name is on the order form.
Orders are due Wednesday, May 7th.
Our
class has been extra-wonderful lately!
I just thought you’d like to know that.
Happy
May!
Mrs. Schuler
